| Bought this to replace a Black & Decker toaster oven. What a difference. This thing is great. Takes up very little counter space yet is quite ample inside. Bakes, toasts, and broils everything to perfection. Will certainly buy Delonghi products in the future. |
Are you confused by the dramatically inconsistent ratings? I was.

I've used a DeLonghi toaster oven for the past six years, and I got that from my mother who used it for about a year before she gave it to me. About three months ago, it gave up the ghost with a *pop* and a slight smell of burnt toaster innards.
I thought it would be a simple thing to find a decent replacement, but when I logged on to read the reviews of various toaster ovens, including this one, I was quickly confused. Ratings veered wildly from one star to five stars. A large number of buyers wrote that this toaster oven burnt toast on the lowest setting, others said it was a great piece of equipment. I found the same discrepacy in the reviews for every other toaster oven I checked out.
Finally, I decided I'd never find a toaster oven based on reviews. I was tired of not having a toaster oven, and since the DeLonghi brand worked for me before, I figured I might as well try it again. If it didn't work, I'd return it.
Well, it works fine. In fact, it's great. The default setting for toast is T-4, which is right in the middle of the 7 possible settings. I make my own bread, and it toasts beautifully on setting T-3. I've also used this little oven to heat up frozen veggie burgers and do some other general toast-oven-type tasks and I'm very pleased with it.
This toaster oven is a great improvement over my previous one: it's evenly cooked everything I've put in it, every piece of toast I've made has come out just fine, and it looks great. Some reviewers hate the beeping noise it makes when buttons are pushed, but I don't find the sound to be any more irritating than the noise made when I'm setting the temperature or timer on my full-size oven. The oven rack doesn't pull out automatically when the door opens, but this isn't a problem for me. The glass is tinted, and that makes it a little more difficult to look inside at what is cooking, but that doesn't bother me. I can always open the door for a quick peek if necessary.
So, I'm adding my positive review to the mix. If anything happens to change my mind, I'll update this review.

I am really happy with this toaster oven.
Pros:
- Toasts, bakes and broils evenly
- Warms up quickly
- Includes broiler pan
- Nice looking
- Doesn't take up a lot of space
- Oven rack has two positions (high or low)
- Roomy inside (4 slices of pizza fit well)
- It has a clock
- Tray can sit on top of oven when you're not using it
Cons:
- Must toast at lowest level (T1) which is not the default (T4 is, and I've never used it)
- Can't set machine defaults
- Beeping noise oven makes when pressing buttons is unnecessary and kind of loud; no option to turn sound off |

| This toaster oven is great if you're looking for one that doesn't take up too much space and want fast cooking and toasting especially when trying to get out in the morning without waiting forever for a slice of toast or engligh muffin. Amazon price was the lowest, especially with the free shipping. |

I love my new toaster oven. I searched every store for one. I found this at Amazon.com. I am a first time shopper. It is exactly the size I wanted and rated five stars. It makes perfect toast. I like the different settings to choose from. DeLonghi was reccomended by my friends also.

I was looking to replace my trusty euro-pro which was starting to show its age. At first, I bought a Bella Cucina toaster oven from Macy's. But because of its poor quality, I returned it for something else.
I then noticed this beautiful little oven for $59. All digital and dressed in black and chrome, it looked mighty impressive. So, even though it's a bit smaller than the Bella Cucina, I bought it.
The product is presented more like a consumer electronics device rather than a cheap toaster oven. Which is actually quite nice.
The box says that the unit is designed and engineered in Italy (but...made in China). And the design certainly shows. It's gorgeous! Plus it seems very well made - much better than a lot of toaster ovens out there.
There's really more space in there than you would imagine! The oven comes with an interesting rack which is two overlapping squares.
What's interesting about the mechanics of this unit is that the heating elements, on both top and bottom, is in a rectangular format rather than just two rods on top and bottom. I was wondering if it would work well with food.
Yes it did! I just cooked a pizza and it really cooks quite fast! It took only half the time than it did with my euro-pro. Which is quite impressive. The pizza came out pretty even and very tasty.
With all the pluses of the unit, there's a few things that are minor which while not terrible, are things that might be improved with on future models.
First, the glass door is tinted. This might be good or bad, not sure yet, but you might not be able to tell how far cooking has come without opening the door. Perhaps the tinted glass keeps the heat in which makes things cook faster???
The second thing is that all the buttons are black. Maybe some color could have been introduced. Like the - and + buttons. one could be red and the other blue.
Also, there's some clicking sounds while cooking....nothing bad but the lights dimmed for a split second while cooking. It comes with a grounded three prong plug which is supposed to prevent electrical overloads, etc.
overall, even though I used it just once, it looks like a very unique and well made oven. If you can find it - buy one! There were only two left at Macy's Kings Plaza, in Brooklyn.
But I'm glad I got mine!

| We had a Black & Decker Classic toaster oven for 15 years before it quit. Having said that, don't run out and buy Black & Decker now - you'll waste your money. We bought and returned two of them, as well as a Farberware toaster oven. This DeLonghi toaster oven is amazing. The door closes firmly, there are no plastic knobs to break off - it's all push button and works like a charm. It costs more but, trust me, it's well worth the difference. |
Works Great!

Despite all the cautionary remarks about this toaster oven, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I have not had any difficulty with burning or over-toasting.
PROS
- Very small footprint
- All digital
- Easy to use
- Easy to keep clean
- The default toast setting works fine.
- Cools down fairly quickly.
CONS
- It IS a bit slow, but for general toasting, all toaster ovens are slower than traditional toasters.
- Toasting rack does not pull out when the oven door is opened.
I don't use the broil feature because it is easier to broil in the oven |
Happy Toasting

| I read your reviews before I purchased this item. I happen to like bread, bagels, etc. well done. Many of the reviews said that even on the lowest setting, the bread, etc. was too dark. I guess these people don't like toast because I like my bread dark and used the lowest setting and it is too light for me. So far I have been enjoying my new toaster oven. I especially like the compact design so it doesn't take up the whole counter. The only thing that I don't like is when we have a power outage, I have another clock to reset!!!! |

| This toaster oven has controls that really work! We tried & returned 7 toaster ovens from other manufacturers before finding this one. Several of those were as much as 200 degrees off. The DeLonghi was dead on. |

| This is a great toaster oven. I have a small countertop and it fits perfectly and doesn't take up too much room. I also have electric so the fact that its a small oven is also great. Its very easy for my kids to use without having to turn on the oven on. |

| This oven looks good, bakes accurately, takes up a small space on the counter. Easy to use electronic controls and timer. Just don't expect to put a 12" pizza in it. 4 bagel halves or 4 biscuits is about the limit. |
Outstanding Toaster Oven

This is the best toaster oven I ever owned. I never had a DeLonghi before, but I remember their toaster ovens were ranked number one by Consumer Reports several years ago. Now I know why. It is a well made product, the workmanship is much better than the other toaster ovens I checked out, even those costing more.
I was afraid of the beeps, but now that I own the product I realize those claims were ridiculous. It beeps 3 times [twice] to let you know your toast is ready. In reality, it's a plus because it reminds me that the toast is done. In addition, how many times a day are you going to make toast? Come on, don't listen to those people who are trying to scare you off with some stupid beep issue.
Talking about toast, I have no clue why some people complained about the toasting feature. I prefer my whole wheat bread lightly toasted, and once I set the control on 3, my toast comes out perfect every time. The digital controls are so easy to use and more precise than the old rotary knobs. Yes it took about 3-4 minutes to figure out the digital controls, but once you learn how to use them, it's so easy.
The toaster oven is jet black, small enough for my counter, and it does a great job of both toasting and broiling. I've had it for more than a year and it's been trouble free. What more can you want from a product?
I would also check out Sanyo, they also make excellent toaster ovens. |
